American model (ASCVD — AHA/ACC)

Based on the Pooled Cohort Equations (Goff 2014). Includes age, sex, ethnicity, systolic blood pressure, antihypertensive medication, total cholesterol, HDL and eGFR/CKD. Recommended for statin evaluation in primary prevention in the US population.

European model (SCORE2 — ESC 2021)

European gold standard by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC 2021). Cox PH model calibrated for 4 EU geographic areas. Includes the nephrological factor (CKD/eGFR) as an independent modifier. Extended to over 70s with SCORE2-OP.
